Hold the Door!

by Cheryl Higdon
(Stillwater, OK)

I have two boys, whom I would like to teach to be gentlemen in a society where gentlemen are nowhere to be found.

Just last Wednesday evening at church, I was looking for my 9 1/2 year old right before the service was about to begin. I found him holding the door for folks just arriving to church! He wasn't told or asked to do it, and it just warmed my heart to see him take the initiative to hold the door open and greet fellow churchmembers!

What a nice thing to do. It is such a simple act of kindness, but it does mean a lot. I am sure you must be very proud of your son.
