Hello, I am planning on homeschooling my son as soon as possible.
We just moved from San Diego to Missouri and we are now moving to another city...I do not want him to go to another new school and homeschooling is something I have been wanting to do.
What is the process of taking my son out of school to homeschool him this week?
As you are in Missouri now, then the law states :
"If a five- or six-year-old is enrolled in public school, he becomes subject to compulsory attendance immediately until the parents request in writing that he be dropped from the school’s rolls."
So it looks like you just need to put your request in writing to the school to remove him from the roll. You can check out the law for your State here.
You will need to check out the laws for the city you move to, if you are moving out of State.
Wishing you well with the homeschooling - I hope you and your son enjoy it! best wishes, Julie.
