How to start homeschooling a 14year old

You don't say where you live, so the first thing you need to find out is how to homeschool legally in your country or state. If you are in the UK, then you can read about home education UK law here.

If you are pulling your child out of school because of bullying or other unpleasantness, then you should think about deschooling - this will give your child some time to recover while you decide how to homeschool them. Do you plan on using a homeschooling curriculum for example - and what type of homeschool schedule would you like to follow?

I recommend you read as much as you can about homeschool before you decide how you are going to do it. Your library should have books on the subject. I also have a checklist on this site on how to homeschool that I think you will find useful.

Nobody can really tell you how to homeschool because it is such a personal thing - tailor made for each child! But keep reading about it and asking questions and you will soon find a way forward for you and your 14year old.
