How your ideas saved our homeschool!

(usa)

When I first started homeschooling I bought a pre-packaged curriculum and I soon realized it was not working for us. My children were told what to read and what to study. They had no freedom to spend the day researching and learning about Elephants or how the Ancient Egyptians lived, and they coudn't spend the day learning how to crochet or make a quilt.

I decided to look on the internet to find fun ideas, educational activities, and how I could homeschool while following their interests. Then I came across this website! I figured out that I could even homeschool for free! I learned more about lapbooks, unit studies, and different ways to incorporate fun into our days.

I now use your workpockets homeschooling schedule approach, your free Smorgasbord Homeschool Curriculum, unit studies, and lapbooks. My kids are now more happy than ever!

Wow! I am really pleased to hear that. Thank you so much. I really appreciate that you took the time to let me know.

I hope I can continue to keep you supplied with homeschool ideas that keep your homeschooling fun!
best wishes, Julie

Saved our homeschool

I agree! It's so easy for us homeschoolers to get caught up in the mighty curriculum machine. When there are so many other fabulous things to do out there.

I've always loved all the ideas you give us but have really struggled in "finding the time" to implement them. When I put aside the boxed stuff there is plenty of time to implement some of your ideas (not all there are too many hee hee).

Thanks for all you do Julie!
