Learning about a country or state or continent and you are dying to know what it feels like to be there?

Go there by researching on it and what you would do there and then pretend to go there doing what you found out in your research.

You start out by looking on a map and finding where you live on the map and then name what you would do there, then find five to ten other places that you would like to go.

Do you know what you would do there? If you do, pick another place. If you don't, do some research and find out! Then after you've gotten information pretend to go there and do things similar to what you researched that you would really do there. Think what you would eat, drink, activities you would do and more! After you are done see how much you can write about it.

Julie says: Thanks for sharing your great homeschooling geography idea, Valerie. That sounds like a great way to get to know a place.

Sometimes we have fun really cooking the meals we would eat in different places - see homeschool cooking ideas.
